dhumble5
Hello again I am looking at a 04 Nissan terrano 2.7 td tomorrow hoping to buy it. I asked the guy if the timing belt or chain had been changed he rekons they don't have belts or chains. Do any of you know if they have a belt or chain. The terrano has done 74000 miles. Thanks in advance. Derek

spanielchris
As above m8! Great trucks! Stick some decent all terrains tyres on it! Never been stuck in mine! Make sure it's had regular oil changes!!! Good luck!

ferguson_tom
If your looking for a 4x4 try and keep a look out for another terrano. I picked mine up on monday and cant fault it, its a proper robust truck and pretty comfortable. I have also been pretty impressed with the on road handling its a lot better than a couple of other 4x4s i have driven. As only had it 3 days but so cant comment on running costs but i am pretty confident it is not gonna cost me a fortune (touch wood)
bedwards1966
They are a decent motor, I'd recommend one. OK off road, OK on road. Better than many 4x4's available... Edited April 4, 2012 by bedwards1966
bigmanuk
We have a terrano for years as a 3rd off-road/shooting vehicle. It was old and nothing special with about 100k on the clock; apart from standard maintenance it was faultless. Great 4x4, really cheap to maintain. It uses gears/cogs for timing, hence no timing belt or chain. Its the same engine they used to put in black cabs, I know people with terranos with upwards of 200k on the clock. bennyblanco
Mine has just passed 155k with only a clutch failure to report
Sprackles
Look out for Ford Mavericks too.exactly the same vehicle, just a different badge on it.
silver pigeon 3
Just bought a Terrano 2 SE+, I was not looking for another vehicle but it was just to cheap to not buy. Year 2000 less than 80,000 on the clock full Nissan service history, but had been used a farm vehicle from about 18 months old, so was very dirty inside. Paid less than £850 with a bit of tax and a fair chunk of MOT left. Spent a few hours cleaning the leather and door cards, have ordered a second hand carpet set for it and i reckon it will look pretty respectable. So if any body wants a 1998 Frontera 2.8TD i have one going cheap

MITCHF
Picked up my Terrano 2 3 weeks ago, always fancied one. Can't fault it so far, fitted some 31" AT's and it goes well off-road
