A Couple Of Bucks This Morning.

Dry but overcast at daylight so headed oot hoping the rain would stay away.First 2 places had plenty roe including 2 bucks but they were easy enough to get into but no safe shots with hooses near by.The 3rd had a buck thats been working some hardwoods but the wind has never been right but it was spot today.Parked up,and had a wee walk of a couple of hundred yards and a crawl of 40 to get him spot on.He was around 180 and on the shot he dropped on the spot.A nice long but light 6 pointer in the box.

Carried on and saw a couple of more bucks that i hadnt scoped before but they were pretty flighty so went back to where i had him earlier and went a walk through a young plantation where the bucks are plenty including a good looking 7-8 pointer who has got the better of me 4 times so far this season.Superb morning by this time with hardly a cloud in the sky so thought there would be a good chance of some enjoying the heat, and after a few hundred yards a buck came crashing oot of the cover and legged it away but then followed the fenceline and started coming right back towards us.The sticks were set up so when he stopped at around the 80 yards and with him quartering i pulled and heard a nice thud come back.He gave a jump and then held doonhill back into the cover where i saw the bushes moving for a few seconds and then nothing.Wasnt sure if the shot was bang on so gave him 10 minutes before puting Rab in and it took him a good 15 minutes to find him with the cover. The shot was bang on the money so another one in the box.Havent a clue of the weights as the dealer is away with them and i hadnt time to hang them up to check but both should be minimum 18kg as both big beasts.

**** off you ******** creeping *******.Now that the niceties oot of the way, some top ground with some good bucks. The first has a cracking span but the dealer went away with it still attached so i phoned for him to keep it for me.As for the bevvy,i had one big Glayva during the game and that was it.

Nice one Dave looks like you and that scope are getting on just fine! Talk soon mate :good: :good:

Fine pairing Alex and looking forward to seeing how it performs in low light with the roe but its way clearer than the Nightforce as you go up the mag.

Well done! Couple of nice deer! If you don't mind me asking, what's the 75 varmint like for weight? I've seen a few online but thought they might be a bit much with a bipod and mod ontop? :hmm:

I was also wondering where about you got the cheek rest? Could really use one for my .22 :good:

Cheers!

Cheers fella.I wouldnt like to weigh the set up now as it would be pretty fearsome.Im a big enough lad so dont really notice it but it would put a lot of folks off.I cant remember where the cheek piece came from but its an excellent one and gives the height required with the big glass on top.
