Cranfield
Does anyone know where I can get a heavy duty extending dog lead (if there is such a thing) ? The plastic little things I have seen, tend to fall apart under any serious stress.
Dave-G
Square pin or round pin?
Cranfield
After I typed it, I realised that I could expect an "electric" comment. I am actually looking for a long, strong hunting lead, I'm not sure if they are available nowadays as extenders, or not.

Colour supplied will be either black or red. here http://www.ultimateanimals.co.uk/acatalog/...ylon_Flexi.html
Cranfield
Thanks the ferreter, there are one or two options on there for me to consider. I thought you were having a joke, as I waded through the "cupid pink", "Burberry" and other very twee designs. The good stuff was right near the end. My old hunting leads were just long leads and they could be a nuisance to keep gathered, when in heavy cover, falling over and soaking wet. new to the flock
Cranfield the flexi long lead is the one I use for my recall work and for starting quartering. Excellant leads that take alot of abuse and last along time. One hint if they get wet take the time to lock the line out full distance and to dry the line and the recoil spring. My first one lasted around 14 years and went through roughly 100 dogs. Flexi Long Lead The Flexi Classic long retractable cord dog lead has a single handed brake/lock mechanism. This cord Flexi lead is 8m/26' long and ideal for dogs weighing up to a max. of 50kg/110lbs. Country_est
Had one of those flexi leads to try and controll a springer I had years ago. She was alright when working but on the beach or long walks would run over to any dog in a 2 mile range just to say hello . So thought would go back to trying the flexi lead. once when she shot off I closed the clutch and yanked her back , the old leather collar she was wearing (in the sea as well) snapped and came flying back and hit me straight between the eyes and droped my like a sack of ****. She just carryied on as if nothing happened and left me there while she went to see the other dog.... Never again did I use the long lead for anything else than tethering her (or any other dog) whilst camping.... trev
