when i got my .22lr 2 years ago i read a lot about how to look after it and most of the comments on here was not to clean the barrel inside,

so for 2 years i have left well alone but the other day i took all the guns out the cabinet to give them a good clean,

when i looked down the barrel of the .22 it was very dirty so thought why not clean it and if it looses its accuracy i can soon dirty it with a few rounds,

took it out after a good clean and its now shooting very well indeed ( the muts nuts )

think i will clean it a bit more often now

does anyone else clean theres?

Had my CZ 5 yrs now and only ever cleaned the exterior, never cleaned the barrel, always shoots spot on.

mine is a cz 452 it was shooting fine just thought after looking down the barrel that i would give it a pull through

now it may be all in the mind but it seems to of improved it imo

Not a 22lr but a cheap sarasqueta 22 winmag. I only clean it ones a year -I use it a lot- and it's always spot on. Have to say I only use rws ammo wich doesn't leave a lot of residu in the barrel. After cleaning I always fire of about ten shots to avoid clean barrel shots at live targets... Works for me.

I dont think a pull through matters as much. A scrub out with a phospher bronze will tho!

I think that most shooters will shoot their .22 rim fire ammo straight from the box . Most .22 rim fire ammo is well over waxed at the production stage and is designed to protect the ammo in storage and on the shelf from any type of corrosion .

I clean off the wax from most .22 ammo with a clean piece of cotton rag . This process will leave enough wax on the bullet for lubrication . This saves putting all the wax through your gun that will muck up your feed ramp ,bolt face and bolt guide . I very really need to clean my .22 rimfire .

Harnser .
