they last ages as well colin which is why everyone that has one raves about them. Not bad for a tenner to have one that actually keeps an edge. Mine tends to do the whole deer thing from gralloching to butchering and though there are better options it seems to manage

it does seem to be well made and the handle is very comfy and grippy too which isn't a bad thing if your hand is covered in blood as you don't want your hand slipping down the blade i have done that and it's not nice

the plastic ones are much better from a hygiene point of view, just chuck them in the dishwasher and you are good to go again. Thats for those of us that prefer not to introduce salmonella and various other nasties into our sausages etc :yes:
