hendersons
Modest as ever mate but I bet there's one person we'd really miss if he wasn't there, clue, he sports and beret and foraging basket and can be seen flitting between the trees after morels and wild garlic. He's too modest to tell you he did the Munty sarnies (with Crowman, yum ), the rhubarb crumble and the rabbit three-cup? That last one sounds a bit rude don't it? Surely that should be three rabbits one cup! Have you had a look on you tube for cinnamon yet Duncan?

activeviii
who ever shot the rabbit gave a good heart lung shot. I left the heart hole but the livers and lungs were chopped small so everyone could have a taste, i blame the hunter for shooting the smallest rabbit ever that rabbit balti masala was 12 hours in the making, i'll sort something else next year. hopefully it will be warmer so we can fire a barbeque up and use more wild foods. maybe some pit food and cooking on hot rocks. I'll have to see what i can find on the beach.hehe. As for the kind comments, i was only pot washer and a Commis chef :yp: knowing about it now though.lmao. It is tough tough though with a 9X scope at 704 yeards with my wee .22 springer. Still, scram is scram

I think 3 bits of belly pork for me was enough. the pear, almond and honey wasn't on the table. it was very nice though.

njc110381
Well that was a great weekend. Thanks to everyone for chipping in, but especially Thunderbird, Mike and Nick for doing the bulk of the work. The food was amazing as always... Well apart from the Cherry Squirrel which I thought I'd give a miss. Well presented and imaginative, just not that appealing! I think my fire lighting demonstration was a little flawed, lots of coughing and swearing and I'm sure it's supposed to catch faster than that?! I did win the air rifle comp though with 92/108. Mike was second with (I think) 84 and Dave third with 82. Of course I didn't enjoy beating Dave at all.... Phil pinching his backside as he was about to take a shot was clearly to blame for his lack of glory (nice one Phil)! Hopefully the event will go ahead again next year. It was a great weekend with a great bunch of lads and it was nice to see a couple of new faces.
