The name Malmo came from the founder of the company - Malcolm Campbell (top bloke) - a mix of his name and his wife - Mal and Mo - if my memory serves me well.

Malcolm is a thoroughly decent bloke and a good shot. It was nice to see the company taken over by a family of similar ilk. All top people. :good: :good: :good: :good:

Firstly, even if you think you have not shot these cartridges you probably have! By that I mean Cheddite are one of the largest suppliers of cartridge components in the world i.e. Cheddite Flake, Primers etc etc.

The 28 gram Universal Trap is one hell of a bang for your buck and at £164.00 per thousand perhaps one of the best buys around and without skimping on quality.

The 24 gram is a real surprise - crisp, soft and fast. A colleague counted the pellets on a pattern board and tells me they put more pellets into the kill zone than most 28 grams. I have heard it said that a lighter load has less pellet deformity so this might account for this? In any case 24 grams is the standard load for the Olympics. These come in at £160.00 per thousand.

I have shot 250 of each. It may be all in the mind or because I shot 28 and 24 together but the 28 felt a little bit punchy. However, judge for yourselves but do comment on how you find them.

@ Mr Potter - Life can be tiresome but this is merely a comment on a well priced cartridge. What's tiresome about good value on a shooting forum? Is not your own link (no doubt well meaning) an endeavour at

@ Gordon R: They do say amateurs built the Ark, professionals built the Titanic. Long may the amateur have a voice, especially on this forum.
