dazza
My Lab has had diarrhea since yesterday. Today he has had diarrhea and vomiting. He not in pain and just wants to be left alone to sleep. Do you think this is anything to be worried about? He hasn't eaten anything dodgy as I always keep an eye on him when in the fields. Maybe just a bug like us humans get? JustJon
Starved for 24-48 hours then fed boiled chicken and boiled rice in small amount regularly tends to be normal advice. Vaccinations up to date? 48hrs+, blood or gets worse = expensive vet visit =)
dazza
Yes his jabs are up to date. Just a bit worried as he hasn't drank very much today. I'm trying to avoid the vet as he's like a rabid bear with strangers. Edited July 4, 2012 by dazza

Actionpigeons
Why ask, Just take it to the VET Edited July 5, 2012 by Actionpigeons
al4x
Why ask, Just take it to the VET do you go to the doctors if you have a stomache upset? Usually if you monitor them closely and don't leave more than 24 hours they will get over it, could have eaten something in the garden or picked up something un noticed. If they are getting worse not better then yes vet but some dogs do get the ****s occasionally.
bi9johnny
as previous mine was lethargic and not interested in his food then water through the back end so vets it was , vet gave him a jab and some immodium syrup ok for 3 days then watery again, back to vet and this time he is running round right as rain as himself so vet gives him another anti inflammatory jab and anti inflammatory pills for 5 days diet of scrambled egg and fish or chicken cooked.....so far a £100 but hey ho it's me that has to look after him he cannot pay it himself .....if at a glance he don't look right get him the vet simplzzz

I've always asked on here in the past and they have been spot on every time.
Actionpigeons
Plenty of dog men on here know what their talking about. I've always asked on here in the past and they have been spot on every time. Worked with dogs/Hounds since I was 18, I am now over 60 and I would still take it to the vets after starving for 24 hours if it still had a problem, as I am not qualified as a Vet. You can’t guess what is wrong with an animal Edited July 6, 2012 by Actionpigeons
WGD
Each to their own, if one of mine had the squits and was a bit sick it wouldn't be a blue light job to the vet. I always starve for 24 hours then reintroduce chicken/rice in small meals (4 or 5 times in the next 24 hours) then reintroduce their normal diet. If either the chicken/rice or normal food causes further upset then I go to the vet.
