bakerboy
Sunday I went to see my daughter on Sunday and her neighbour had a large roll of Bamboo screening rolled up in the back of his truck. I asked my daughter to make contact and if it was to be dumped I could make use of it. Later that day got the call it is yours if your want, I duly went round and collected 8 metre's of 2 metre high Screening. I wanted to use this screening on a permenant hide on one of my permission's. Monday :good: Today I receive a telephone call from daughter asking if I can shoot the rabbits on a Golf Course (the neighbour with the Bamboo is the green keeper) Result Thursday :D Today I take the screening to the Farm, meet the Farmers wife in the yard and have a chat. She takes a liking to the screening to protect her garden from the wandering Goats, so I pass it over. I drive down to the hide and give it a tidy up and move some rubbish left by the Farmer, and discover a large amount of Black close mesh plastic. Thinking head firmly in place , this will come in handy to place around the hide, the vegetation can grow through and up it and make the hide look very natural. I fix the mesh to the hide and as I do so the pigeons are flying in and sitting in the sitty tree above my head. Back to the car get the gun, cartridges and my new stool from The Range £8.00 and really perfect for shooting from, back to the hide and sit there thinking am I going to be lucky. 10 minutes goes by and I have 4 Woodies and a Magpie, 3 hours later I decide to go home (no food or drink with me and the dodgy leg playing up)I now have 20 Woodies really should have had 6/7 more, and who knows how many had I put out the Decoys. All in all a good few days, will be back tomorrow to try the hide again this time using Decoys, anyone want to keep me company , there is room for one more . al4x
sounds like a good few days Terry, oh for the bane of work some decoying would have been good otherwise. As lets face it nothing is getting harvested round here for a good few weeks

bakerboy
sounds like a good couple of days mate...long may it continue!...how do you fare sitting down shooting a shotgun?,i can't get comfortable so i prefer to stand. At my age I sit down for every thing, especially if I want to "hit the target" . The stool is high, so to stand is only a very small movement, sitting shooting I have done for a long time and it is not a problem, quiet relaxing really. Fox warrior fish chair is what i use. I only stand when i need a pee. You get use to shooting from sitting plus i think it makes you think more on your decoy pattern as you want he birds in front and not just flying past looking. If that was the chair you were shooting from at the Cotswold meet, it is better than I have in my Lounge
