Chr15j
I currently have a cz452 16" heavy barrel varmint with a lovely stock and am considering changing over to an Annie 1417 thumbhole. Firstly, what is my cz worth in good condition Secondly, what should I pay for the Annie 1417 thumbhole Thirdly, should I even bother changing over bearing in mind hassle of 1-1 variation etc Thoughts much appreciated Thanks Chris

tweedledee
trust me the rabbits don`t bother greatly about it. annis=e is a great gun but for 100 yds odd you will find the cz shoots every bit as well.up to you if you want to sink money just to have a nicer gun
Muddy Funker
I personally wouldn't bother, no doubt the 1417 is a beautiful bit of kit but will you shoot any better with it? But while I wouldn't bother. if you've got the money and want a trade up then why the devil not!!!
Catweazle
I'd be asking myself if the Annie, fine rifle as it is, will be usefully better than the CZ when using hollow point ammo rather than top quality match ammo.
Chr15j
The positive for the Annie is its shorter and has thumbhole stock with decent comb. I am grumbling a bit about the lack of comb on the cz especially with my big objective scope. Alternative is buy a boyds stock for £120 from states. So upgrade to Annie is not so bad really Will it shoot better? Prob not, will I find it easier to shoot and more comfortable, prob yes. bicykillgaz
Get a boyds stock chris I've got he same gun as you and it's well worth £120 feels like a new gun, plus if your stocks mint you could get £50-60 back for it. I'd get rid of the big objective scope too get something with a 40/44mm objective on low/medium mounts but get something decent quality with the money you've save from not getting the Annie. You'd not really notice the marginal accuracy gain from the Annie unless you target shoot loads. I'm eventually gonna upgrade my scope when funds allow and get another fixed mag can't beat a 6x42 on a rimfire wish I'd not swapped back to variable. My 455 shoots just as good as my mates Annie so I am happy to have saved £300, but I do agree with you about the stock.
Chr15j
Well I could get a boyds stock and poss chafe my scope back to my 4-14x44 etc Or get an adjustable butt plate from the bay. Tbh I live my viper but I don't love it as much as I thought I would. Maybe I'll flog it to fund the boyds stock... Still curious about what I should pay for an Annie 1417 though

bicykillgaz
Still awaiting an idea of what I should pay for the Annie 1417 Have a look on gunstar, guntrader, ukgunroom any of them will have some on to give you a rough idea, I really wouldn't bother unless you just want an anschutz for the sake of owning one, in which case fair enough go for it
