Siberian Tiger
Is it just me who finds this a disturbing image? Seriously though it is a very good point, mine is always careful what she wear under neath as she managed to bruise her collar bone pretty good on a Bra strap when she first started. I used to wear a sports bra and now don't bother If you're struggling with bra fit HDAV, get thyself to debenhans or M&S and they'll measure your moobs to ensure you get the correct fit Edited July 17, 2012 by Siberian Tiger

ferguson_tom
Then weight to stop shaking dry mounting or other arm strengthing exercises will help. I keep getting my missus to try the arm strengthening exercises more often.... but she aint having any of it. My missus prefers a 20gauge with light carts, she finds the 12 gauge just too heavy for a morning shooting. She doesnt complain about the recoil at all. She tried a cut down 12gauge which had been adjusted for women and found it horrible to shoot with, she does not shoot very often at all but said that it just didnt feal well balanced unlike the 20g or my 12g. ben0850
My Mrs doesn't mind the kick off the 12g even with game carts but couldn't deal with the weight. We opted for a 20g Bettinsoli which she loves especially with lighter carts (which is fine for her as she's a bloody good shot). Best thing is to just try lots of different guns! HDAV
I think there is an element of psychology at play here, and everyone is different, fit, strength, ambition. A gun your "happy" using will feel better than one your not "happy" using. My missus doesn't like semi's, glad i found out as i very nearly bought her one! but she thought it was ugly and didn't want to even try it, last gun she shot with was a 26" 12gauge Browing handmade game gun which she loved! The bore size is largely irrelevant, it's all about the weight and balance, plenty of 20 bore weigh more than 12's but those that have been cut down can be unbalanced (or just have started off as badly balanced guns and made worse). Also the more you shoot the better the muscles get and stronger. I have seen a petite lady who shoots an MK38 GD5 with 30" tubes (getting on for an 8lb gun) very well, she started with a 20bore then a 12 28", but having a well fitted to her heavier gun she shoots better, but she shoots alot. I know she had the foreend thinned too as the standard trap foreend was too wide. All of the top women shooters shoot 12bore guns
nobbyathome
That i believe is key, and have been told a sports bra will help (although i tried it and it was no better for me ) Is it just me who finds this a disturbing image? ha ha no i have this disturbing image going through my head as well
Shropshire_Lad
Gun fit counts for alot! I have shot a little 25"sxs for a few years now with some lively cartridges and never any bother (I am left handed and shoot a gun fitted ) but at a recent Meet shot a friends sxs for 20 rounds or so. I new I had to stop, My shoulder was telling me all was not well and I ended up with a ******* monster bruise! If you were new to the sport you would have given up ! My girls shoot a 20 bore with a gel recoil pad and have never been beaten up like I was Lol. A well fitting 12 will be a better choice though as cartridges will be cheaper. atvb Paul. welshwarrior
All of the top women shooters shoot 12bore guns That might be true of clay shooters but not for game shots some of the best women even manage to shoot 28 bore just like the men.
