MC
That's spaniels for you, I almost loose my arm if I pass a piece of water while out walking Merlin. Lovely pictures. Cheers Martin
Dunkield
The biggest problem we have with out mutt (JRT kind of) at the moment is the number of partridges arround I can't wait until the 1st September when they will be thinned out considerably, it's only natural for him to want to chase them, but I refuse to let him catch them, unlike other owners
old rooster
Mine is mad for water, she swims out to sea like Reginald Perrin !!! If I chuck a stone in shallow water she goes in and puts her head right under to get it out. She'd have brought me one of them thar goldfish for my tea if she'd got in your pond. More pictures due soon, nearly 7 months old now.
sutty
The goldfish are used to him joining them from time to time, however the Carp is on "Prozac" for the forseable future. In Spaniel terms its "his" pond and they just borrow it. As for the garden, well, he' slowly turning it into "steptoes yard" Cheers Sutty. Wookie
It's not fair!!! I want a spaniel!! I was talking to my mum (owner of a slightly mad golden retriever puppy) about the Springer rescue place in Lincs the other day. She knows I've wanted one since a kid, but both of us know I work too much to properly have one. Dammit.

Lancs Lad
Still gutted that I coudlnt convince the wife........... Hes a right little cutie... Hows he doing on the training front....
sutty
Lancs lad, not done too much field work with him yet but he has been out with me a few times just to get used to the sights and sounds, his obedience training is coming on great he will walk to heal, sit, stay etc etc. He has retrieved a few birds though, and he seems keen to learn, he isn't bothered about gun shots and as you can see he loves water. He seems to pick things up quite easily but after a while he reverts to being a pup and cocks a deaf ear now and then, especially on recall but eventually he will get the idea. He is still at the stage were he needs to run about and play for an hour before he settles down to work on the training lead, he will make it i am sure, just a matter of time. We may never win any field trials but he will do for me lol. cheers Sutty

sutty
Lancs lad, Do what i did, take the Mrs out with you one day, After she has run about gathering shot birds, jumped a few fences, swam out to the middle of the pond and back wrestled her way through several thickets of briar and thorn bushes. All for a meal of "Bakers complete" she will buy you a dog i bet. :o :o Cheers Sutty (PS dont let her read this as i have a very low pain threshold)
