bedwards1966
A Hatsan barrel should be easily got through your RFD, they can get one from Edgar Brothers. I would have thought it would be the same for the Winchester.

Zapp
Speak to a RFD, they often have spare components knocking about.

sincerershorty
Hi, i have the same sort of problem, only i have a 3month old winchester sxp 28" multi choke shotgun and i so wish i bought it on 26".!!! Have looked around but but most of the rfd are saying to get a 26" barrel at the mo is almost impossible. I have shot with my friends 26" and it just feels so right for me. So for now it looks like i am stuck with my 28" !! unless someone here has any ideas??
mudpatten
I had a similar problem in the past. You might be able to source a separate, used, barrel from within the trade but the challenge is that the guns are made as complete units and neither the manufacturers or the importers have new spares just hanging about in the workshop like they used to do when production was not so rigorously computer controlled. I tried to obtain a spare barrel for a Beretta semi a few years ago direct from GMK and was quoted a delivery time of over a year, although I suspect that they just wanted me to buy a new gun instead. sincerershorty
Sounds like it`s common problem then ? I did look into getting the barrel shortened and that was a no no ,as it was was going to cost nearly as much as buying a new sxp ! Its a real shame as i do love the gun but just wish i was alittle more patient in waiting for a 26" barrel to come into the shop instead of just grabbing the first one they had ! stu nesling
another option is to chop the barrel and have a thin walled teague multichoke installed. not sure on the cost but will be cheaper than a new barrel thats for sure. i gave up looking for a 26 barrel for my franchi!! could only find them listed in the usa. a real pain as they go for as little as 60$. sincerershorty
Well i am well up for doing something to get a shorter barrel, as long as the 26" barrel comes with proof certificate and is in as good as condition as my 28". What are the legalarities of swapping barrels do we have to infom the Firearms Licensing Unit ??
HDAV
Isn't the SXP made by hatsan anyway? Spare barrells don't have to on a SGC IIRC if it's a FAC gun I think they do and varies force by force so check with FEO Thin wall teagues for a cheap pump or semi..... Might as well just buy another gun!
private pike
the sxp that i have is the 26" barrel and it is brilliant i just thought i whould get the 28" barrel for it i did phone pocklington gun £160 for a new one i thought that was a bit steep
sincerershorty
Around here in the northants area didnt seem to be a problem for the rfd laying there hands on a 28" barrel ( dont know price though) but a 26" barrel seems to be a real problem for some reason. Perhaps cos we all have short arms down here or something !!!
