deadeye ive
sorry chaps but what it a 17HMR. Im guessing its a particular sized round of ammunition. .17(4.5mm)HMR(Hornady Magnum Rimfire) Fps is 2550 and with a 100 yd zero anything from 30 to 125 yds requires no adjustment of the cross air

webber
McF amd I took my newly aquired Anschutz 1517 on our recent Scotland foray. I had not shot the rifle before, and so had to spend some time zeroing. I purchased a selection of ammo, as many types as I could. I soon found that the Anschutz would not cycle any of the hollow point rounds at all. However the balistic tipped rounds were something different. I can only describe the rifle and ammo combination as fantastic. The balistic tips do it for me, but not for bunnies brains, which go walk about. On return from Scotland I explained my dilema to the vendor of the ammo, who kindly agreed to take it back into stock. Sadly he had run out of the Remmington rounds that the rifle seems to love, so I shall wait, no point in spoiling a good thing. Compared to the CZ, the Anschutz is expensive, but quality and accuracy are what you are paying for. Whilst zeroing, we did not have the luxury of a range finder, and I think that McF over stretched the 100 yards a bit, but I still achieved groups of 1" or so, with the rifle rested on a cushion. I later shot in the field with the aid of some medium height cross sticks, I found these to be invaluable, and look forward to letting Dead-Eyed-Duck try them. 4 rounds per clip. First time out, 3 bunnies all head shot at 100 + yards. 1 mis, perfection elluded me! webber

Webber 6 months ago I would have agreed with that statement .....But not now ........I looked at both thoroughly and with the CZ being £200 cheaper is what swung it .........Incidently it's a tack driver with looks to match
Ferretboy111
True i mean how much more accurate does one need to be if im hitting an inch group at 100yrds? with my cz american. If one goes amiss, i can usually tell when it will as soon as ive shot the shot because its me thats ruined it not the gun's accuracy. kirky640
dose it not annoy you guys that when shot the cz wont let you put the safty on until you put another round into the breach, i know its safe until cocked again anyway . is there a reason for this or is that just the way they are ? cheers kirky
