chrisjpainter
Well, good clean down won't be time wasted! One mistake you only make once! I'm guessing it's filling up nicely now? What do you use it for? (welcome to the site btw!)
Ryanm1978
Not put in back together yet , I bought it from my brother today and he's not looked after it, so I'm gonna strip in properly back to bare metal. iv a aa s200 and a BSA ultra multi . jamiedenny
Yep, just cock it before you fill. A service will only be a good thing.

Stuntman
when you fill it, with a stirrup pump, you'll probably need to put in 5 or 6 good fast strokes make the seal, if you enjoy it think about a diving tank makes life soooo much easier
Ryanm1978
Got a dive tank, iv put it back together temporary and just filled it , but it's at around 220 bar , but it's output is very poor , I can watch the pellet leave the gun and hit its target ,looks like a slow motion film ;( any ideas ? Think you're overfilling at 220. Try filling to 180ish and see. Higher fill pressure can cause lower power till it gets down a bit
SakoQuad
Think you're overfilling at 220. Try filling to 180ish and see. Higher fill pressure can cause lower power till it gets down a bit max fill pressure 190bar power drops off above this. As suggested 180 is good. Also don't let pressure drop to less than around 90bar or you risk the valve opening and dumping what's left.
Ryanm1978
That's mad , my BSA fills to 220 bar and works great , also so does my s200 , thanks for info guys
mr williamson
as said above keep it to 190 ish or 180. if the seal want re-seated because of low presure, stick it on a dive bottle and give it a quick blast but dont over fill. it always worked for me. also as said it will lose power when over filled so find its sweet spot and stick to it and you should be fine. regards m.w
Stuntman
I was shown on a test the fact that 220-200 was alot lower ft/lb than the recomended 190, it performed so much better
jamiedenny
what results did you have when filling to 180/190 ?. it was lucky you didn't damage anything :-). if its still just dropping out the end there are still lots of things you can try. jackinbox99
New seals is a good move. Ive just given my s410 another service with all new seals - i replaced all the seals about 3 years back and was really surprised at how worn out they looked yesterday. As others have said, when refilling, try cocking first. Also, dont fill over 190 as it will not improve performance. I put mine all back together yesterday, filled to 190 and my first 10 shots were about 6 ft / lb!!! After about 20 more shots, this slowly crept up to nearly 13ft lb. So i immediately backed the power down to about 11.5ft lb on the adjuster - did a few more shots to check. Thats why I always recommend people should get a chrono as you never know what sort of power you`ll get after a service. When I get some spare time hopefully at the weekend I plan to do a full shot count on mine and plot the ft lb to see how it performs. Fatcatsplat
I took mine up to 220 or so, heard a very large bang and the adaptor from the bottle flew off the gun - Thought i'd blown the seals, but after around 30 or so "air shots" just lowering the pressure inside, the power came back up significantly. Mad but true!
