Richard V
Hello all, A mate of mine was thinking of getting his own shotgun for clay shooting with me, however he lives at his sisters flat, so doesn't want to install a cabinet. Would it be possible to have his own cert with his gun on it, but a condition applied that the gun must be kept at say mine or another cert holders cabinet when not in use or is that not possible? Would it just be easier to put his gun on my cert and "lend" it to him as and when required (although I guess I would have to be with him all the time) Many thanks Richard
Gordon R
Your first suggestion is possible.
Gerry31
Put it on both certs and keep it at yours no problem
HDAV
Commonly done, just needs a note of explination when FEO does the interview that there is no cabinet to check as "it will stored at "XYZ" house until I move"
shaun4860
I stand to be corrected butI believe you ont ned a cabinet for a single gun, one of them gunlock devices would be good enough But yes his gun can be on both certificates, yours has to also be on his if he has access to the cabinet http://www.sportingshooter.co.uk/guns-and-shooting/useful-stuff/gun-security Edited September 15, 2012 by shaun4860
Richard V
Many thanks for the replies. Cheshire is very insistant on a cabinet (so much so that they simply refuse to accept a clamp) Shaun. This might be another case of the police making it up as they go along. I'll let him know
HDAV
A clamp is as much a pain to fit as a cabinet......
Thunderbird
On a similar note, can a jointly owned shotgun be on two different certs?
walshie
On a similar note, can a jointly owned shotgun be on two different certs? Yes. We all have access to the shotgun cabinet in my house, so all the guns are on all the certs. i.e Seller fills in my cert, and I fill in wife's and son's as "shared", or vice-versa. welshwarrior
Nothing wrong with that I have 2 people doing in my cabinet now. And for 5 years I did it while I lived in at work.
