12borejimbo
Nice rifle setup that! Isn't it weird you can go and pick up a Sako but have to wait ages for a Tikka, good rifles though, I am getting my second one this saturday, in 6.5x55. Isn't it weird you can go and pick up a Sako but have to wait ages for a Tikka, good rifles though, I am getting my second one this saturday, in 6.5x55. Its all very strange, ordered the Tika back in March from Sportsmans, then GMK (The importers) kept saying all kinda strange things like its a strange calibre and we will have to wait for several orders to make the barrel etc, eventually gave up waiting as last time I ordered a sako 85 6.5x55 it took 8 months and the synthetic stock turned out to be wood..... nice rifle and I took it as they gave it to me at cost price, but annoyed never the less. Havn't worked out if its GMK or sportsman thats the problem, I nearlly went to Finland to pick one up as I found them on the shelf over there ! al4x
I reckon Doc that owning one sako you would have been disappointed with a Tika in comparison so its almost worked out for the best
docholiday
I reckon Doc that owning one sako you would have been disappointed with a Tika in comparison so its almost worked out for the best I think so to but thought 800 quid for the Tika was me with my sensible head on as have just picked up a 150 animal cull with the possibility of another hundred on top if we get the land, so will be out in all weathers and reckon its going to have a prety hard time, but the Sako looks like it will take anything you throw at it, and guess like most things in life you get what you pay for. al4x
indeed the extra money I think is worth it in relation to less plastic bits, all I will say though is the stainless doesn't equate to easier to look after it still needs a good amount of looking after to stop rust spots appearing.
