The Essex Hunter
My third trip out with Martin on the lamp and a large dog fox fell too our efforts this evening. There was a set of eyes at the top of one field and it spelt fox to me, with the strong wind the sheep were all hiding in the hedge down the bottom. I stopped the truck around 200 yards out and had a scan for the ruby eyes, “nuts” it had moved to the fence then slid into the wood. So we checked a field behind…nothing…back to the spot and a set of eyes further along but hovering behind a fallen tree. I put the Kahles on 12 mag but with the light sky the red filter was not giving me the ID I wanted. So whispered white light!!!A nice white chest and a gap in the branches’ ……bang …thud and a 1000 jack doors start to squawk. Paced it to 170 so quite pleasing and a large exit wound from the 75 gn ballistic tips. TEH

al4x
nice one with regard to the filter you can usually get away without one but depends who else shoots round you, I recently got a deerelight with the red led module and that is considerably better than a lightforce 170 with filter. And far easier to carry more to the point!

And far easier to carry more to the point! I am not keen on using a white light because it shows up the whole area and people can see it for miles, giving Mr&Mrs Busy Body and their curtain twitching neighbours a chance to ring up and mess up a good evening. We like to turn up for 2/3 hours shoot foxes and go home “ Leave no mess only dead foxes”………. TEH
al4x
The funny thing is its less likely to be spotted round us as the number of car headlights about, but for true stealth thats where NV comes in then no one knows you are out

The was so much against the master ,, **** light long shot and a true meaning to the saying " Cant see the wood for the trees " Mater 1 fox 0 .. heres to another good night ,,,
