Lord Geordie
Some so n so hit my car on a roundabout and dented the 2 doors and left a mark on the rear arch. C.F recovery want near £1000 2 door skins and a spray job i think thats a tad over a beleivable estimate. The insurers want to write the car off but i think in reality the job is no more than a £350 job. the spray job will only take 2 hours max as it is a flat colour and then bake and perhaps an hour for prep after the doors are repaired. I would personally replace them it's quicker and just as cheap by the time the Labour cost of fitting the skins is added on I think most coachworks now seem to think people are stupid and willing to pay. I used to get a guy to flash over my cars for less than £200 after i prepped them CF want near £400 for the spray on 2 doors and a rear quarter and the paint only needs flecked up the pillars to blend in Still waiting for the other guys insurance company to sort it all out though LG
Lancs Lad
Panel beaters as they were are a long dead trade. Nowa days its new doors or skins. I work for a car rental company and our lads have a real good idea of what costs are likely to be. bear in mind that it might not just be a bonnet.................you will probably end up with a personal injury claim, suddenly there are 4 passengers all claiming whip lash.......... we get loads of it...............................
