caeser
I know this has been sort of started in another thread, but I thought I'd make it a bit more official. So who is up for this meet up at Catton Hall on the 23rd of december. Its turning into a bit of a family outing for me. My daughter and her boy friend fancy going too. (He's a sidecar passenger in the BSB.) My missus has said she wants to tag along too. So there's 4 already

caeser
It'll probably be really busy, but I suspect everywhere will be on that day.
Yellow Bear
Remember it's a 100 sporting comp not an open day
caeser
Remember it's a 100 sporting comp not an open day I was a bit worried about something like that. Does that mean you can't shoot clays if you're not in the comp. I know at other places it hasn't been a problem.
beeredup
surely will be ok to shoot birds only?
BlaserF3
surely will be ok to shoot birds only? Yes it will be.
Yellow Bear
Birds only is no problem - non shooters wanting to try a few may be

I know at other places it hasn't been a problem. Maybe it's not a good idea to have a meet up at a registered shoot, there will be shooters trying their best to win and it's not the ideal scenario for those who have never shot before. caeser
Can anyone suggest a reasonable venue then, as there seems to be a few that are interested in going from the northwest.
BlaserF3
Worsley, Blackpool, Kelbrook, I think they are all open.

BlaserF3
How many total novices are there? I'm not being "funny" but novices in a group can be hard work as they really need a safety talk before they are given a gun.

My missus is coming along, but she won't be shooting.
Nicky T
Worsley, Blackpool, Kelbrook, I think they are all open. Worsley also has a 100 ESP Registered shoot on 23rd December
Wildfowler12
I'll be there. Catton was suggested because it's local, cheap, and you can shoot birds only for if you're not CPSA registered
Siberian Tiger
So, just to confirm......you're shooting at Catton then 😠(null)
Lock Stock & Barrel
I'd be up for this too if you don't mind. Never shot Catton Hall and it's on my list - assuming you've agreed it's going to be Catton - it is now confirmed?
Lock Stock & Barrel
Mike, Andy - this shoot still on?
caeser
Unless someone can find a better venue that doesn't have a registered shoot on that day, then I'll be there. I was talking to Andy about Coniston, but it finishes about 1.30, and it might be a bit out of the way for a lot of people. Great place though. I think it's more about meeting up than shooting, so venue for me is irrelevant. I'm really looking forward to it.
beeredup
yeah maybe some where thats not running a registered shoot would definately be a better option

Cheers guys - if memory serves, Worsley will be a registeted shoot, right? What about Catton Hall, is that a registertd shoot too? Like to try and get some agreement on venue if we could, as I fancy a shoot without having to work around a registered shoot.
Yellow Bear
Yes Catton is registered - but does not take much to "work round" as birds only provided you shoot the card. Will be there on 23rd.
