Had the day off to go shooting today only to be greeted with ******* down rain, paced up and down the house till about 1 o clock then thought sod it, picked my mate up and off we went, drove all over looking for pigeons or crows but not much about, dropped in on a farm we shot over some peas earlier in the year and there was a few crows flighting about so thought this will do as time was getting on, found a nice sitty tree to set up under on a big ploughed in stubble field, as soon as we got near a good 500 - 800 pigeons got up circled a few times but didnt return, got set up with the flapper and 10 full bodied decoys and as the first shot rang out about 100 greylags got up from the other end of the field and vanished, had a good 3 hours calling a good few in with the primos power caller ending with 11 crows, lost 2 in the field behind, all in all not a complete waste of a day
