ME
The transport industry goes quiet over Christmas. It is pointless being in the office. I treat it as a time to see customers, friends and family and to get a clear head for the new year. My last day at work was Friday just gone. I have staff in the office next week, but I will go back on the 10th Jan.

TopDown
I've never worked Christmas Day. There has always been some single person desperate for the money who is prepared to swap. I'm working nights New Years Eve and New Years Day. That would be me. Though my guest appearance on Christmas day falls in the middle of a nice two weeks of leave. No Boxing Day, New Years Eve or New Years Day for the first time in a while.

ME
I wish it would for us!! You are doing one trip, we are offered load after load this time of year. We take call after call from chancer's wanting last minute stuff done - Morris Minor money for Rolls Royce service. Sure, if you have a truck sitting empty and a reload, then there is money to be made but in general it is a waste of time for us. Have a nice Xmas in Austria. I was on-call every Christmas fro 4 years in a row, I'm getting used to cooked turkey dinners with the family again now, not reheated ones whislt everyone else watches the Queen's Speech...
