humperdingle
I've been thinking about making one from an old RC transmitter/receiver and a cordless drill... Just need to turn it into practice
deny essex
I have used the rc bits from the small kiddies rc cars picked up from a boot sale for a quid or two, some work out to 35 mtrs some less but removing the rc bits when marked up as to what wires go where, a bit of work and imagination they can work, but you must add to it a relay to take the amp's needed for what the magnet motor uses , Battery drill motors work for magnet but do still need a hefty battery to work all day and speed control can be a bit of a problem. caeser
I bought a 2 channel 12v remote control switch from the bay for about £8. Works perfect. Small and compact. Easy to wire up. Just have to connect it inline next to the flapper or rotary. There's plenty on there. All different prices.

motty
I don't see the point in remote/speed controls for magnets or flappers. The only time i would use a speed control on a magnet would be if i was using a small battery and needed to conserve it's energy all day.
