bakerboy
Chris will be ****** off, he shot a 46 but didn't bother to put his card in! Thanks again mate. excellent day. And thats because he ***** off. Half the fun is the shoot the other half of the fun is at the pub, banter Pi$$ taking and getting to know fellow shooters from other squads. There is even more fun in the evening if you can stay late, or even better stay over. The rules are, if you do not stay the prize goes away to the next top shot. Can I have a little moan? Too many people left their empty cartridge cases on the ground in the mud in the Sporting section . Stu made a great effort with his magnetic shooting stick, and while he was picking them up people were still dropping them on the ground around him as if he was some sort of Skivvy . Stu let me thank you for doing/attempting a great job with the empty cases, it was appreciated by Churchill,Rammerburt and myself and a number of others who witnessed what you were doing  . Alan spends a lot of time after the shoot tidying up, give the bloke a break and let him get to the pub and his beloved Guinness with the rest of us . Sorry about the moan. Please place the empty case in the bins provided in the bin. Edited March 10, 2013 by bakerboy

fenboy
48 no shows is very disappointing. Perhaps it is time for Alan to ask for £10 upfront via paypal or something , hopefully I will be able to make the next one .

icu2
I thought this was a business so 76 x £22 + tea & burger van comes out at £1672 + so take away the over heads and thats not a bad paid day. i wouldn't mind doing some picking up and people not turning up at that sort of pay out, go to Mildenhall and see how many cartridges are on the floor. sorry just my 2p worth. Agreed, but it's only good manners to pick up your cartridges before the next bloke moves in. Isn't it? - If I can manage it with my Semi' spitting them all over the place then surely we all can. I stood behind one "Gentleman" who took the trouble to gather the cartridges from the breach of his gun, then chuck them on the floor! sorry, just bad manners, like leaving a gate open on a farm, or ditching your rubbish after a day's shooting in a hedge, it doesn't do any of us any favours with Joe Public Edited March 10, 2013 by PLH1966
gamekeeper1960
Your also very wecome to go to mildenhall (lakenheath) and wade through the cartridges,if thats what you like, but my way of thinking theres also a thing called respect ! maybe he should inpose a fine for cartridges left on the floor lets say 50p each all money to charity
icu2
Agreed, but it's only good manners to pick up your cartridges before the next bloke moves in. Isn't it? Definitely, but you always get some, i have always picked up my cartridges weather i'm shotgun shooting or rifle shooting, my farmers just would not allow me to shoot if i left a mess. so i would imagine its the same for hitclays, he must make sure its tidy. Wharf Rat
Cracking day. Always is. Always appreciated and looked forward too. I like the way the set-up has always been slightly different to keep things really interesting. The sporting layout had some very deceptive birds - Thanks Alan and Co. Looking forward to the next one.
RobC1990
I always grab the cartridges and put them straight in the bin / if you was on a permission of a farmer you wouldn't leave cartridges on the floor you would just leave your foot prints so that should happen at clay shoots, business or not it's good manners! Churchill
Chris will be ****** off, he shot a 46 but didn't bother to put his card in! Perhaps a one on one shoot off to claim the win at the next Beeston shoot. I'm game and Alan can choose the targets. PS, I agree with the other comments, It is common courtesy and respect to other shooters to put your spent shells in the bins provided. Even on my permission for pigeon shooting I've gone home with a bags full of spent shells that I've picked up that have been left by other shooters. Its just litter. Is it so hard to put your hand over the ejectors and catch the cases and chuck them in the bin, even if the odd one misses the bin its better then just letting them fly. As far as I am aware Alan makes no money from the burger van , the Grand total of £22 also includes a lunch . Have you any idea how much insurance and other over heads cost ?? at the end of the day if he is making money or not it is only common courtesy to pick up your own empties. hitclays
hands up who only shot 106 cartridges yesterday i will tell you NO ONE. Now icu2, you have no idea have you. firstly i have to buy the traps and yesterday there was over £40000 worth being used. Not to mention service and repairing them. Then you have land rent paid for each shoot. No shoot would take place with out insurance which costs me over £7000 each year. Then i need to buy the clays not to mention paying rent for the storage of them. There were three flushes yesterday which were all ran from flush boxes specially made for the job, another £2000.Staff wages need to be paid for refs. Then you have my Vehicles and trailers plus fuel. Then my time effort and know how which money cant buy. The flush and sporting is set up on friday starting at 9 am ,i stay with my traps over night ( gypsies) then finish setting up,run the shoot organising 76 shooters on the day of the shoot ,then put everything away back at the lock up before i see my home again. The next day i sort out all the rubbish ,batteries and traps which takes approx another 4 hours. So as its no doubt beginning to dawn on you there is a lot more going on to put on a shoot than you realise,as it starts on thursday loading up and finishes monday afternoon. I put these shoots on to meet and shoot with like minded people that i can now call friends,You have not shot with me so i dont put you in that catagory and probably never will. Where else can you shoot what the guys did on saturday for £22,i will tell you ,no where because they would go out of business. The whole point of the flushes are not to make money, but to meet and have a laugh, something you will not be part of. I own other businesses and property from where i earn my living. The tea/bacon butty bar comes to my shoots free of charge,i do not and have never received a penny from them.Almost forgot to mention the FREE FOOD in the pub for all shooters after each shoot. icu2....CLUELESS Edited March 10, 2013 by hitclays

I'm sure people just imagine that it takes 10 minutes to sort it all out and get it packed away and ours isn't on the scale of yours. The cartridges are a pain in the ****, a flush I can understand as you need to be quick but if flick my cartridges anywhere but in my hand I go out of my way to pick them up. My opinion.
