Stealth Stalker
I went out on my way back from work this evening with the intention of sorting out some problem foxes on my newly aquired pheasant syndicate. I saw this chap happily munching away on the farmers crop. I've never seen one this colour before, I,ve shot plenty of black ones but no goldies. Needless to say Mr fox didn't show up, always the way when you've got your rifle with you, I've seen him plenty of times whilst dogging in, but alas no gun SS
henry d
Nice bunny,we have an old railway line about 5 miles away that throws the odd fawn bunny for no apparent reason and the main railway had a few blacks on it for a few years then we had 1/2 doz pure white albinos, wild not domestic, for some strange reason and since then neither

Ferretboy111
only ever seen black, and that isnt fequently. Looks a gorgeous rabbit, keep the pelt? Alex P.s it aint a leveret has a wrong size head for that, and no black tips on the ears etc,.
Stealth Stalker
Thats what I thought at first Cat Surely the ears would be much longer though, the standard bunny above is a 3/4 grown put in the picture to show the contrast in colour. Catamong
Perhaps it's a cross breed with a domestic bunny gone wild...? Cat
Ferretboy111
Wonder if hares and rabbits can interbreed? Alex
crieffy
Nice pic. I've had a couple like that recently (thread on here somewhere) Have also had black ones and brown/white ones. I heard that in places with a particularly dense population of rabbits these unusual colours are more common. John
Frank
Its a rabbit. I got one just like it a few years ago, whilst ferreting, lovely looking alright, as FB says, you should cure and keep the pelt. Frank.

sandersj89
Used to get a few black rabbits, especially on one hedgerow. Never seen one that fair but it is not a hare. I for one do not like to shoot hares, they do not do huge amounts of damage and are a big quarry. We see a fair few on the farm but in 25 years of shooting have never fired at one. Never will do either. Jerry

Axe
SS, its a fine looking animal for sure but, i'd have let it go. Then next year on my return i'd have a whole field with easy to spot rabbits. Good shooting.
