hello,

thought id post a photo of the pike i caught on the second trip ive had pike fishing. i went with my brother and my dad and caught 12 fish between us, the largest being this fish which i caught on an abu firetiger spoon. it was a really good fight which lasted about 5 minutes long. i used my new wychwood sharpshooter spinning rod that i got for my birthday and so far i think im hooked. hopefully im off to cheddar resevoir next weekend which im told holds much larger fish than the drains we were fishing in.

Nice one Matt

Im guessing this was the Drains off the A38...not been there myself but been told they are packed with Pike.

Been told there are some good Pike down at the Bridgewater Resvoir...

I went to Ireland the year before last and had some excellent fun catching Pike,

I fish on the Avon at Jackie Whites, Keynsham by the Choc factory, they say there is a 20LB Pike every 20 yards down there, and the largest i have seen come out is about 20LBs.

They come in when you are catching the Roach...should be there myself in Nov.

Cheers

Spaniel

Nice one Matt,

looks about 10-12lb to me a verry nice clean pike.

good luck with your future trips m8.

hopefully it wont be long before I land my firss pike of this winter. pike fishing is addictive ive been pike fishing for 22yrs and still love it. bigest Ive caught is a 29lb 1oz from a res near sheffield. last day of the year in 1989 I was 12 then. I remember it like it was only last week.

kipper :good:

me and my dad thought that the fish was a bit bigger than 12 pound but were new to this so ill trust you lot , im not really a small person weinging in at 12 1/2 stone . we were thinking that it was about 14 pound?probably wrong.

the drain was the blind yeo near cleavdon and yes it was packed with the jacks which were great fun to catch.

i might have to try down keynsham i only live a few mins away in wick so its near enough.

Its a tough call, I have caught 10lb'ers and taken pictures of them and they look tiny, you may be right about the wieght, if you really want to know do a search round the web for some other picturs and do a comparison.

I forgot my scales last time we went and my mate caught a reasonable Zander, we have no real idea how much that weighed so I know how you feel!
