The blingy action was the only way to go unfortunately, after some numpty stripped the colour hardening. The top lever wouldn't budge either, so that's as good as it gets. I can have it dulled down, if its to shiny, which it maybe. Funny thing is Welshwarrior, I've had your original packaging used instead of mine, mon capitan! Lol

Not sure about total cost, but will post once I've heard back from Richard.

You've done a lovely job on the stock Charlie.

In terms of the action and top lever the colour hardening was totally ruined so short of re colour hardening which is firstly expensive but risky as the parts can warp coin finishing was the only way forward, it could be lacquered for corrosion reistance if need be.

If you can ever remove the top lever the I'll gladly polish and black it gratis

I have an AYA no.4 myself that could do with a bit of tlc on the wood.

I'd like to give this a go but I don't know how you remove the stock from the action. The fore end wood looks easy enough to get off but I wouldn't know where to start with the stock.

Any tips on this?

Thanks.

The no.3 box lock, is dead easy to take apart. Firstly turn the gun over, remove the trigger guard, by undoing the screw at the rear and then turn the guard itself. Under the guard is a screw to the top of the action, remove. Finally under the top lever, is the last screw to undo. Once removed, wiggle the trigger action away from the stock, job done. You may find an additional screw to remove, which is hidden behind the butt plate. Be careful with the size of the screw driver head, as you don't want an ill fitting one which may slip or damage the screw.

Good luck
