Hi guys I'm looking for a x50 scope for my pcp. I'm not spending a lot £80ish or swap for an air rifle. Iv got hawke sport hd 3x9x40 it's ok but would like a bit more! Also illuminated scopes are they any good?..

(This is advice aswell and wanted, I thort here would be the better place then in wanted. If not mods, sorry)

My advice would be to get a quality no-frills second hand scope, and don't get tempted by big objective lenses and high mags from cheap scopes as the light transmission will be way lower than a better but smaller scope. Probably not what you wanted to hear, sorry.

Saying that, you could pick up a Simmons Whitetail Classic 3.5 - 10 x 50 for 80 pounds and they are superb scopes, just make sure its a Philippines model.

I have the nikko sterling 3-9 X50 from JSramsbottom, for 36 squid. Its fantastic value very clear optic, nice field of view, holds zero very well. I can take mine on and off the rifle and normally the zero doesnt shift. Very worth while IMO. If you can afford better, pay more, but air rifles are only good to about 50 yards max anyway, so anything more than this scope is going to affect weight contraints and isnt really going to benefit your shooting. Ive found illuminated reticles to be a waste of time.

Currently sold out, sometimes they are still in stock on their ebay site though. Of you can pay another fiver and get one with an illuminated reticle.

An AA S200 is so gentle on scopes that you dont need something designed for a full bore rifle. If you research scopes you will also find that a 40mm lens transmits as much light as you will ever need.I would stick with a 40mm and concentrate on getting it as near to the barrel as possible (using the lowest mounts you can get away with)the benefits in accuracy will far outweigh the "advantages" of a bigger scope.Great choice of gun btw.

No 50mag, 3-9mag. The permission I have there's some woods and the extra light would b handy also for my homemade night vision. I use x6 normally zeroed at 30yards. Shoot out to 40yards max using range finder.

50mag would b silly

In my last post in referring to air arms 10shot magazine...

The aas200 mk 1.. I find to be a fantastic gun accuracy amazing I can take 10 shots at 30yards all inside 2p. It's so consistent, Small shot count at about 30 at 11.7ftlb but that's 30 shots 30 kills... I know with this rifle if iv missed its something iv done wrong..
