Dave1087
Hi all thinking of making a remote bolting rabbit just wondering if any one has made one or can you buy a remote one Thanks
PERCE
Go on the gun dog training forum & do a search, there's a guy being doing a few homemade remote launchers / bolters, if it's not exactly what you want it may give you inspiration. jimmyb79
Lite Launcher makes a remote launcher that can be used as a bolting rabbit. A bit pricey though.
sky gipsy
I made a simple one once using a long length of heavy bungee cord & a rabbit skin covered dummy. Tie one end of the cord off on a post, stretch the bungee out to full length & clip into a gate latch-keeper fixed to a post set low in the ground. As the dog is worked close to the set dummy, you can open the latch-keeper with a length of string tied to the latch handle & send the dummy accross the dog's path. Not brilliant I know, but did give the dog a distraction & temptation to run in while using other methods during a training session. cocker boy
Don't bother with one, i have never seen a good pro trainer use one. Find rabbit pens you can use and go to them instead
scutt
done this years ago works a couple of times but the dog soon wises up to it not worth the effort better to spend time looking for areas holding rabbits such as industrial estates on a Sunday.
