hedd-wyn
I did the same mate, had a complete tool trying to buy my Air Arms TX200 few months back. He refused talk over the phone, and would only pay through PayPal. Told him to jog on. If you're willing to wait, you'l find the right customer. aris
If English was not his first language, then I'm Sure his question was lost in translation. Edited February 11, 2013 by aris
Scottoj18
Do it the same way cars are.. Sumthing like a v5 that's says your the legal owner and are responsible for that air rifle? Mr ... Address ... SN: 12345678. then is transferable From owner to owner. Not to control the ownership of air guns, just make the owner responsible .
Scottoj18
If English was not his first language, then I'm Sure his question was lost in translation. I way thinking the same but asked him to repeat he explained shoot rabbit ,pigeon how far. Also said shipping to rfd was not a option for him and can he collect .. I explained the a sub 12ftlb can be sent by Royal Mail .. It just felt a little off.
TaxiDriver
I think a few on here have had enquiries about a gun they've had for sale that somehow didn't sound or feel quite right ? I had a person who sounded of foreign persuasion who wanted to travel from Heathrow to buy an £80 shotgun, then said he was getting a licence but didnt have it yet, I refused, next day he phoned offering extra money, again I refused and he got a bit shirty and abusive, Again I politely declined to sell, 2 days later he wanted to bring his 'Uncle' who supposedly had a SG certificate to buy the gun on his behalf. I suggested we meet at the Police station and conduct the transaction there and was told in no uncertain terms and suddenly much better english where to go and what to do with meself lol Edited February 11, 2013 by TaxiDriver

Tug
Licencing wouldn't solve any problems, just increase hurdles. If you think that it's a good idea then I've got a suggestion for where you can stick that rifle.
