.philmypower.
I have 3 working dogs, I went for a walk on a public footpath today and was told I would get fined if I don't get a collar with name add ect on it around my dogs neck. Is this true I've never had a collar on my dogs as their in and out of cover, under fences & gates its just not practicable

fenboy
Dam phone Your dog requires a collar and tag in public BUT is ok without when working on private land though never known anyone prosecuted for not doing so
scotslad
Fenboy has it spot on, think as long as working/training ur dog ur fine. But my dogs are always undergoing training
Big Mat
I've always thought that working dogs were only exempt when they were working, the rest of the time they have to wear a collar. Saying that my lab never wears a collar and i've never had a problem.
pontbeck
Absolutely true, all dogs should have a collar and identity tag. Never owned one , live rural but the law is the law
