Big Mat
I use a Archie Jordan call for the pinks, tidepool sell them.
boomboom14
I really like the Haydel range, particularly the DR-85 for Mallard, also some good bits on YouTube to watch on these...
ayano3
I use Archie Jordan for Grey's and pinks, I did alter the pink call myself as it wasn't producing what I felt the correct sound. I use a brass widgeon call. I usually call mallard by mouth but also own a scotch call with bellows. There is many sites who sell calls but personally I know kev at tidepool so would compare his prices with other sites. Incidentally, mat makes some very nice lanyards if you ask nicely :-)
Spaniel
Primos High Caller 6 in 1 duck call I have both of these
Spaniel
This is my Greylag ( I know this one is for pinks, but its the same design) call got it off a guy on PW, really sounds good and the guide up in Orkney had one, brought the geese in lovely Edited March 13, 2013 by Spaniel
Beretta28g
Ive just checked, and the Archie Jordan Mk111, the only thing i will say about the one i had was the reed had a habit of sticking, is this a common problem?

ayano3
The Archie Jordan reed does get troublesome in wet and very damp conditions but a quick wipe and its ok again. If it messes about too much I call by mouth. However I call the geese they always go to the nearest person to me, I can call them from a fair way off but like mat will tell you they seem to go to everyone else. Whoever is next to me next season pays to sit there :-)
Beretta28g
Well one of my problems is, i cant call by mouth. It has to be a caller for me really. What would you recommend wiping the reed with?
ayano3
Something dry. It don't happen that often so don't be put off, was just a bit of a heads up if it happens

Big Mat
I want to sit by Ayano3.... 50 yards either side of him and as long as you can shoot straight then you'll have a goose in the bag
Big Mat
The only problem i've had with my Archie Jordan pink call is the bottom section falling out, i ended up wrapping some ptfe tape round it before putting it in so it didnt come out. As well as having a loop on both parts of the call attatched to my lanyard. I thought i'd lost the bottom half of the call in a creek one morning, found it on the ground in the car park where i had been talking to another fowler! henry d
Haydels (can`t remember the number as its rubbed off) snow goose for pinks and greys, HS Bill Collector and Black Ice for Mallard, standard Wigeon whistle and a .222 case for Teal. Terry P
Another vote for the DR 85 for mallard and the primo high roller is the dogs for teal and pintail, for wigeon I don't think you can beat the old brass one. For the greys I have a olt800, which I also use for pinks. No good with links but all easily found on the internet.

ayano3
Its good value at £6. Goes down well after a cold morning sat watching the sun rise and not a lot of anything else.
Penelope
Olt Al Sonderman '66' for mallard, had mine 20 odd years. DJ Calls now make a copy. Olt L22 for pinks. Olt 800 for Greys, but recently got a DJ Greylag call which sounded better until I lost it. I may try one of the Solway greylag calls as they appear to get a good write up regarding sound. Faulks Canada call. lost that too. Standard brass call for wigeon.
scolopax
I use an Echo Game Calls double reed acryllic mallard call, I picked mine up on a visit to the states but I know they can be bought mail order. For Pinks I use an Solway goose call, seems to do the trick. I have never ever succeeded in getting anything that sounds remotely like a Greylag out of a call, including the Solway, but the fault is entirely due to the operator. Teal I use a simple 'drake mallard' whistle I bought and it is a killer on the right day, couple of ppprips and it can turn Teal at right angles into the decoys. The Primos high roller is also sounds good for Teal. Wigeon, never had much luck calling wigeon, does not seem to do any harm but I don't recall ever pulling wigeon off their flight line by whistling.
