One of my farmers rang to say a fox had taken 3 of his wifes prize chickens and could I deal with the problem fox.

I arranged with Grasshopper to have a look that night with his Archer NV and see if we could sort the aforementioned problem.

We got to the farm at dusk and duly got set up in the field by pushing 2 silage bales together.

We didnt have to wait long as after about 2 mins Grasshopper spied the fox coming out of the adjacent wood and crossing the field in our direction.

He let it come til the shot was safe and the rest is history.........................a mangey dog fox .

Went to show the farmers wife who was delighted , she hates foxes , and she acknowledged that that was the fox she had seen earlier with the mangey tail .............RESULT.

Well done Jeff and Foxhunter.

Nice looking Fox from the front but like you said Jeff it was in bad shape on the back end.A good result and hopefully no more dead chickens.

ATB.

You would think it was 2 different Foxes added together Mark,it's backend was so weak.

Well done lads :good::good: There won't be any foxes left in the country with all us Archer shooters :lol::lol:

There does seem to be a few dropping to them at the moment Terry.

It's great when it all goes to plan, and it was less than 2 minutes from setting up and less than 10 from talking to the farmer.

I liked the way his wife got the kids out of bed to see the Fox that had taken the Chickens.

What did she call it "horrible " can't print the rest but it's parentage was in question.

Only scare was when we went to collect it and couldn't find him.Mark had warned me that i had better not miss this 1 as it was a must to get him....seems he was further than i thought and found him another 35yds down the field...PHEW!!!!!

Rob up yours cheeky sod..

Well Jeff had that bloody hat on again and he missed the fox he saw at 30yds it ran back to the trees they were not that far away he could see the head OK but missed the shot.

I was still sat in the motor keeping warm with an eye on the other half of the field where we had seen it earlier on..

It will be a bit shy now so going to leave for a couple of days unless it gets any more lambs.....:whistling::whistling:

In my defence..i had to use a hedge to rest the rifle on,and the Fox was about 600yds away and a tornado passed through the field just as i took the shot...on a brighter note i said hello to Dorothy and Toto.

PS the hat rules :P:yay:
