evening all. i am currently planning to strip the woodwork on an old rizzini sideplate i recently bought.

the current finish is an awful glossy coat that is flaking in places.

i have done a stock on air rifle before but can't remember the oil i used. i think it was english walnut oil by david nickerson but not sure.

can anyone recomend a good oil that is easy for an amateur to apply and which would give a good finish on my rizzin.

thanks in advance.

Aga man.

i did my 1974 eibar stock with boiled linseed oil and have to be honest it looks as new and brought all the grain out superb, as my father once said "if if looks after a cricket bat and the stick that takes it will certainly look after a stock"

good luck with whatever you choose ,,,Evo
