OvEr_KiLL
Perhaps he has a smaller cabinet what...asin a break down?
Big Mat
what...asin a break down? I've got a 4 gun cabinet which has an internal ammo box at the top and my 27" auto only just fits in. Not all gun cabinets are made to the same dimensions...
HDAV
what...asin a break down? Or just a shorter one before the current fashion for long barrels the fashion was shorter. So shorter cabinets were the norm a mate had one that would only just a fit 30" over under with extended chokes and that was a 3 gun, perfect for a 28" OU

Dave-G
I have an ammo compartment type cabinet with 50" available space below it, is that enough room for a 28" Escort?
figgy
My old cabinet would not take my 32" 682 Gold E, a 30" barrel gun with extended chokes was its max. With semi autos its the various lengths of receivers that makes the overall gun longer on say 28" barrels of different manufacturers there is as much as nearly 2" difference in total length. My 3/12" SX3 with 26" barrel and a extended choke is not much shorter than the Beretta 32" extended choked gun. Worth checking the full length of gun and barrel combo will fit your cabinet, and buy accordingly. Figgy
Mikaveli
I find a short barrel two whippy for me on the semi autos a 28 in barrel is the same as a 30 in barrel because of the lenth of the receiver but they seem to suit me my old miroku had 30 in barrels and that shot like a dream not too overkeen on 32 in either so 28-30 suits me I'll second this. For a semi I'd go for about 2" shorter than what I'd prefer from a O/U or SBS. For an Escort, the 28 just felt a little long for me - but as others have said - it makes very little difference and is more down to personal preference.
