ciltalgarth
Evening all. Me and my boys have decided to set ourselves a task of doing a 7 bird roast for Christmas dinner , the roast will included a turkey, goose, duck, chicken, phesant, partridge and a woodcock to finish which the middle lad Matthew would like to shoot with his 410 that he saved up for from Weston park. So i made a start Thursday morning by shooting a goose (wanted a greylag but only managed a Canada so i might go again),pic to follow. The woodcock which we managed to bag today. We went out for 2 hours this morning to a place at my parents farm in Bala which is excellent for woodcock we must of seen 20 birds and managed to bag three but i was more concerned about the lad bagging his first woodcock so i tried to put the birds over him. He must of had 6 shots at woodcock and yes he bagged his first bird which will be our last bird in the stuff. The picture has Matthew with his 410 ,the 3 birds, and his brother(our beater) with my working spaniel Holly. Don( Dead-Eyed Duck)and Rob(magman) i still stick to my word about you guys joining me for a day on them. Sorry. Pics tacken at home i always forget to take the camera. pin
Nice looking goose, I wouldn't use it in your roast though - not a great table bird if the truth be known.
