Any advice on how not to lose so many traps to foxes badgers and humans? Recently ive had 3 lifted by people..3 of witch have been stolen..one pulled up and the mole in one place and the trap thrown ten feet from it. Several to badger or fox. Im getting fed up of it. Ive tryed my best to conseal the traps from people..by building a hill of soil around thee traps..but i have to put markers near them..ive been useing twigs so they blend in a bit more with the surroundings. Im using talpex type traps..scissor traps and barrel traps. Ive heard mension of trappers moding traps and tethering them down but you cant be sure what traps going to get pulled up by badger or fox so i think tethering is pointless. I like to catch the people pinching them but never catch them in the act.

A bit off topic but a several years ago I had a few mole traps set in my front lawn, looked when I came home from work one had sprung so I pulled it out guess what was in it.a blackbird.it was 6 months before a workmate asked how my mole catching was going,

I should add that he had found a dead one

hi mate I use 30lb wire pike trace about 12 inches long with a loop in it then peg the loop with a good peg with a yellow head 9 time out of 10 if badger or fox digs it out then its still pegged down and just on the surface and most people that see the peg don't look closely enough to see the hole 12 inches away but if you have people that want to nick your traps there's not a lot you can do
