Wow you did well to get that. I do pray for a day that i don't need to inject five times a day. how did you manage to get the transplant and is it an artificial pancreas?

seph234-transplant was from a young lady who carried a donor card.I'm not sure what the criteria to be eligible is at the moment but I would speak to your Diabetic Consultant about going on the list or being reffered to the Transplant team. You would be on Immunosuppressants for the rest of your life that have side effects but this would be disscussed with you.

My brother had his first heart attack three years ago aged 46-7 and has had at least one since. We then found out my Dad had high cholesterol etc etc, so for our family it is hereditary. I believe that the only way of stabilising hereditary high cholesterol is drugs. (Haven`t seen film as there are all sorts of pop ups there)

I had a triple bypass at the age of 50, 16yrs ago I take statins and a few other pills daily, my cholesterol was 6+ it is now 3.5, yes I watch my diet and walk the dog every day. also I beat twice a week in the season and shoot shotgun and rifles.

I have heard all the natural remedies and conspiracy theories from a lot of cranks ( one woman is orange from the amount of carrot juice she drinks), I would rather take notice of the people who have studied the subject for years at university, and then added to that knowledge with years of experience. I reckon they have given me 16yrs of living I wouldn`t have had and I look forward to a lot more, my ambition is to be shot by a jealous husband at the age of 96.:yes::yes:
