Chr15j
As some of you know I run a vehicle leasing business. With that I get to drive some very nice cars. But my daily drive has now hit rock bottom, I've gone from an Audi tt to a freelander (at least good for shooting) and now to a grand voyager. Oh my god I own an mpv. On a more serious note, the tyres on my freelander are the same size an my new family bus but with a lower speed rating. As they're new Bridgestone duellers, can I fit them, speed rating T (max 118mph) but it takes h or w rated. If I don't go over 118 (which I won't) will they be ok? Livefast123
I've resigned myself to being Captain Sensible for the forseeable future with a young family and a new one on the way. I've resisted the MPV urge so far and clung on to the Golf GTi with Wolverine claws however i'm going to be loosing the war in 2 - 3 months and we are going to have to get one. Only good thing is piles of boot space for shooting stuff Chr15j - Do you broker new cars as I'd probably prefer to buy rather than lease? If the speed rating is ok all you'll have to worry about is the tyre load rating, I would imagine they weigh about the same anyway?? IEH
I'm sure I read somewhere that fitting tyres with a lower speed rating than the manufacturer's specification can invalidate your insurance.

With all 7seats out there is no boot worth talking about on a disco or similar, if I could have got a disco I would have! I'm sure I read somewhere that fitting tyres with a lower speed rating than the manufacturer's specification can invalidate your insurance. Scrap that idea then! Yes i broker cash sales as well as leasing, tbh after a brief chat most people end up leasing anyway. Drop me a pm with your details and I'll give you a call. Chr15j
Just checked speed ratings and I might be in luck. Only question now is would Bridgestone dueller sports be any use on my bus or will I suffer bad road noise (wasn't an issue in the freelander!) Gordon R
I'm sure I read somewhere that fitting tyres with a lower speed rating than the manufacturer's specification can invalidate your insurance. I believe you are correct. Unless the car is going abroad, it seems ridiculous to insist on tyres which will exceed the speed limit by a factor of two, but that's insurance for you.. al4x
Every Bridgestone dueller I've had has been bloody awfull useless off road and a liabitity in the wet on road, that is on pickups but still
