bicykillgaz
Hi, I've purchased a wildcat cub2 online ready for when I buy a .22hornet but wondered who enters it on my ticket as its getting delivers directly to me. Cheers Gary
steve_b_wales
That's strange, because moderators are classed as firearms, so they are normally sent to an RFD to be collected by the purchaser. I sold a centrefire moderator a few years ago, and I had to take it to an RFD so that they could send it to another RFD.
al4x
as steve says cancel the order it can't be done properly, if they are sending it as an airgun mod or something iffy you then can't enter it onto your own ticket that has to be done by a RFD or someone selling it to you with permission to posess. Dekers
Slightly unusual in this day and age, is it New/Proofed? The VCR Act causes debate, but there are various ways you can legally buy a mod off ticket. No doubt J. will be along shortly to tell you that both you and the seller will be hung drawn and quartered for even considering such a thing! bicykillgaz
I was expecting to have to select an rfd as the delivery address but it doesn't even mention anything like that. It's off the www.shopukcs.com I think, it use to be uk custom shop and wildcat rifles but they've merged. It's specifically built for hornet and .17rem so you can't justify buying it as an air rifle mod as a loop hole. I think I'll ring firearms dept or feo to double check I don't want to end up in poop! Cheers gents
al4x
that cant be right.. just enter it on your cert and inform firearms dept you have aquired silencer from where? and where on your certificate does it say write it on yourself? thats before the certificate requiring a dealers number or certificate number and a space for a signature to say whoever sold you the mod checked you have the right to aquire. as its a mod it sounds a lot simpler than a firearm but whether silly or not they are treated the same in the eyes of the law bickykillgaz their T&C's do mention a fair bit about nothing being accepted till the confirmation comes through so it may be a glitch in their website be interesting to see if they do just send it. al4x
you'd need to talk to your FEO in that instance,

Beretta28g
for the sake of showing their website is up the creek you can also order centerfire ammo for delivery as well................ hope that clears up there is a cock up going on It says that has to be collected or shipped to a RFD as a licence is required. Have they done a super fast edit?
al4x
possibly it let me get it in the basket select delivery and get onto the page where you enter card details funnily enough if you have a look at the P8's it says this PLEASE NOTE :- Sound Moderators can only be collected direct from us or sent to your local gun shop for collection, in the latter case please also supply name, address and contact details of the gun shop. Beardo
the cub is a rimfire/air mod it can be purchased off ticket
bicykillgaz
Right I've had the confirmation through and it is on route as I'm tracking it. The mod is on the website as a 17rem and .22hornet mod. I'm going to return when it arrives im not even opening it, unless anyone on here wants it (paid £133 posted but would take £125 posted). Is it a similar situation to certain rimfire mods where they are proofed for rimfire but can be Purchased for use on air rifles and only become a fire arm if they are used on a rimfire? Beardo
just ring your FLO and explain the situation - it really won't be an issue

JonathanL
So if i go into my little workshop and run up a silencer,, I cant enter it up in the vacant slot? You can. The 'never write on your own cert' mantra is correct for the vast majority of situations but not all. If you have an air rifle mod and you want to put it on your FAC you can just write it on and inform the police that you have it. You can make a whole gun of you want and write the details on to your cert your self as soon as it becomes a firearm. There is no offence in doing this. You cannot buy a moderator for any firearm and have it shipped direct to you. That includes section 1, section 2 or airguns as all must be handed over in person and section 1 mods must be entered on the cert. J. Doesn't matter if it has Proof, it is a Firearm. Non Proofed new mods are different. Edited May 4, 2013 by Dekers
