Shotmaking linotype

Recommended Posts

My supplier may have some scrap linotype available for mixing with your shotmaking lead to harden it.

Alloy 1 lino to 3 lead pour into ingots then make harder shot with that.

PM me if you want some, it comes in 15kg pacels at £30 and 30kg parcels at £45.

I'm doing this to help you and him out, no tyre kickers or timewasters please.

Very hard to get hold of now and I have enough for my own needs.

Taken delivery today thanks to you sitsinhedges for sorting this out :)

Mine arrived too, good job the missus was swinging a sickie today :whistling:

Thanks for letting me know :good:

Here's a good fluxing link for everyone when mixing it together with lead http://www.lasc.us/FryxellFluxing.htm

Just put the lino in last then flux with the wax when melted using the relevant safety equipment and mask. Wants doing outside and preferably downwind because it can be quite smokey. Melts clean once turned into ingots.

Mine arrived yesterday, thanks very much for arranging that for us. Its not actually linotype its monotype which is even harder! You can mix that 5:1 or 6:1 and still make incredibly hard shot.

This is probably going to get converted into bullets as soon as my source of soft lead (a local plumber) turns up some more. Even he is turning up a lot less than he used to for me. Otherwise its up on the church roof next week for me.

Thanks again
