OK, it was 22 and not 25 or 27 and weighed in at 50 moving at 1650 so pretty close to your spec'. Fox hated It. Then Federal changed their spec and that was that. 22 WMR naturally. Underdog
uuggghhhh why, I mean why would you want something a centrefire could do but in rimfire. Because I simply could maybe,,,,, get someone to explain it for you would there be issues on land passed if ya had land passed for say .22-250 technically a .27 rimfire is a bigger bullet would the land need passing for .270 I could not care less over legal issues, if bafoons in power want to keep thier heads burried in the sand thats thier issue. Me, oh I would just supply them with a good reason, like the law say's. U.
wymberley
Actually, you may just get lucky. Our tradition tells us that if it's possible it'll be done - we call them 'wildcats'. I know you know that the new super magnum case size meets your requirements. Its energy is above what your heart desires and how long will it be before someone decides to rebore a barrel and give it a go.
Underdog
Thats what i am hoping for yes. What about the flobert case? U.

wymberley
so someone is going to go to the effort of developing a super loopy trajectory rimfire...... there are odd people out there that would want one but not many Don't knock it 'til you've tried it. As said this equates, plus a bit, to the original Federal 50gn WMR round which was the best short range fox bullet in that calibre. A bigger sectional density/ wound canal plus a half decent expansion could well equate to a 125 yard+ fox. Put me down for one as well, U. Underdog
Yeah sure. Bit like my 357. Never was a comformised al4x. Always liked to be different. Some of us have got most the t-shirts and badges now see and want to hunt as opposed to live target shooting. U.

al4x
varies a lot but the last 5 foxes two were sub 50 yards 1 about 100 and the next two were 200 ish,

Redgum
Because I simply could maybe,,,,, get someone to explain it for you U. I look forward an explaination, a wildcat rimfire round, whoopy, how easy is it to reload a rimmy case, a .375 rimfire, why ? Is it one of those 'just because' jobs. You want a 200gr 30cal subsonic short distance round then 308 would be ideal, and hey, listen to this, its do able today in centrefire and,...... wait for it....... and you can reload the cases nice and easy like and customise the ballistics to your own requirement, thats if you know what your doing. Go and buy yourself a 50cal air rifle, save ya a whole load of hassle.

Who mentioned a .357 rimfire? Who mentioned a .30 200grn subbie? So lets go with you for a moment, how much are 200grn .308's? Near 40quid maybe? Your right not worth it. Now what if a manufacturer could make a cheap soft lead, lubed like LR bullet but in a short little rimfire case with a 60 or so weight bullet, not even subbie, supersonic. In a nice little rimfire actioned rifle, no lumbering long cases or bolt throws, just a sweet little rifle but a little more clout this side o' 100yds. How many of our HMR boys shoot less than 125yds?? If someone like me (getting older) does not want to guess the wind, work out the drop and fiddle with a scope but try and get closer,,,,why not Redgum, why not? I hope that explains it ok. U.
