Malik
Without wanting to sound dumb, what benefits come from lining the cabinet? Help with condensation? Protection from catching your guns on bare metal? I may give it a go if there is some good benefits.
neil3728
As my gun cabinet is layed on its side I lined mine to help protect my gun. I used a old camp role mat about 5 mm think I had kicking around. Gives a nice soft surface to lay the gun on.

Also helps deaden noise if that is an issue for you when taking things in/out.
kiffy
I'm considering this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-4-Mtrx1-Mtr-Aprrox-Light-Grey-Acoustic-Carpet-Cloth-Bass-Box-Camper-Van-Lining-/261176030391?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3ccf4df4b7 not sure if its the same seller but thats the stuff i used, i needed 1.2 mtr width so emailed asking if i could pay a bit more and get 1.2 mtr as i didnt need 2mtrs and it would waste, guy said dont worry and sent the wider piece for the 1mtr price
poorpeet
Thick vinyl carpet tape is ideal for the edges of the cabinet and door. They were the bits that I was always kicking the guns against.
