Advice needed after pattern test

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys hope you can help ok to start with I don't us a shotgun much but will be in the coming months.

I pattern tested both guns I was happy with my semi auto but I found when I fired my under and over I was hitting 10inches left and 6 inches low of the centre off the aim point.

I have heard that I have heard I can do things to make it fire straight.

I would be great full for any ideas.

Thanks guys

Using an eye level mirror, look into it and with the self loader mount it to shoot your "aiming" eye. Hold still and note the position of the eye in relation to the barrel. Now do it with the OU being careful not to attempt to make any correction should there be an error as it's any error that you're looking for. Is your eye to the left of the rib and partially obscured by it? Or where? Where was your eye on the self loader in relation to the barrel?

This is why its good to pattern test your gun! Its quite common to find each barrel shooting to a different point, both barrels (?) I don't know. what range are we talking about? Are you sure its not flinching on your part? Its more common than you would think on a static shot.

I did both shotguns at the same time and I have since re tested to see if it was me I got the same result it's very strang my semi auto is spot on centre.

I have heard but I do not know if it is true but I was told by making the butt longer will change the shot placement.????
