Life's just grand(No shooting for 3 months)

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

After all your best wishes when i posted my no shooting for 3 months,I thought I had better let you know how things are !!

All clear from the heart surgeon and go get on with your life, my son and I went out yesterday (wednesday) up to Rampton Cambs. setup by 11am a good hide on the edge of a ditch shooting over an unplanted field of weeds,(the farmer has only just got these two fields.)

When we arrived lots of crows and pigeons.approx 150 lifted off and droped back in within mins. we picked our spot just short of a quiet flight line . 70mm carts in my new(secondhand) Magnum semi I only took 25 so as not to shoot to much and damage my chest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My shooting was very rusty and I was blaming the gun (bad workman and all that)to start with. We had a steady if slow run of birds, this was Ben's second outing And he missed all but 2 all day(got to get him on the clays again) I managed 5 from 15 carts.

We packed up by 2.30 and headed home Unfortunately I still get verry tired after a little excersion, but it felt great to be out with a shotgun again. Nickb65 I will contact you later this week to meet up.

Best regards Martin

Keep at it. Try lifting weights etc just to get the muscles working again. If you want to get a work out without strain go to the swimming pool. Water supports the weight. How do i know - double Achilles tendon reconstruction has put my shooting plans back by some 3 years!!! Just started fly fishing again. In the meantime the Gamo magnum has been knocking off the local sqizzers and corvids.
