The best one I ever saw was a lad with a hide umbrella. It was realtree, rectangular and about 5 foot by 3. He said he'd got it from a game fair. I've looked for one ever since and can't find anything like it in the uk. I thought it was a great idea as it was easily big enough to crouch behind when the geese were approaching, but of course you could stick it above you if it belts it down with rain prior to getting light enough for the geese to see you.

Have a look on A1 decoys. The have 2 man and 1 man pop up camo hides compleat with built in chairs. I have both and use both. Keeps you dry and hidden. I use the 2 man the most as I can put my lunch and carts on the seat next to me. Ive used it for pigeon, rook/crow and duck shooting. I find it a great bit of kit

Ex army 'drab' poncho cape. Just hang it round your neck, sit on shooting stick, and tuck the dog underneath or laydown with it over both of you and 'popup' when you shoot. No poles to carry. Difficult in wind.

Ghillie-suit for you and a popup for the dog - Bushware used to sell one.

Both work for me.
