Pigeon Watch Charity ‘Game Birds’ calendar for 2014.

Intro ….. After a bit of banter on another topic PW member SamanthaDebra had an idea of a Charity Calendar, an idea which I like the sound of so after a few PM’s to Samantha and Teal were good to go.

What’s it about? ……… Raising money for a good charitable cause, my thoughts are to support which ever Charity the PW charity shoot supported that year and hopefully with a little luck we can run these charity calendars each year too. So for those who don’t know the money raised this year would go to http://www.orchid-cancer.org.uk/ I’m sure you’ll all agree a truly worth while cause. I’ll run a poll to see if the general consensus is the same.

But what’s it really about? …….. lovely ladies ‘game birds’ posing for the camera, shooting based pictures only of course! But with a little luck those pictures will be in a calendar girls style, I think it’s quite important to say any lady taking part must know what use those pictures are going to be put to.

How can I help?……..

…….I see two income streams from this, the first is calendar sales and the second sponsors for a month, so suggestions for sponsors ……. gun shops / rfd’s / ladies specialist shooting clothing / underwear …… that sort of thing, plus if you use one of the above and think they may sponsor then ask / mention / or introduce please

……. Calendar manufactures / printers ….. know of one, recommend or work for one, ideas please

……. Pictures, well someone has to take them, the pictures should, I think, be of various PW members better half / friend or a Miss/Ms/Mrs PW member, and be tasteful rather than crude

……. I’m Mr average when it comes to taking photo’s so some help and tips from the folk who know a thing or two about taking good pictures, I know PW has a number of amateur (even professional) photographers

…….. anything else, suggestions, please speak up!

edit to add the poll

To help spur some ideas ....... there’s a pic (can't remember who it's of sorry) of a lady lying on a bed of flower petals (or is it silk sheets?) with flower petals covering her private parts ( I’m sure someone on here will know the pic), same idea but bringing in the sponsorship idea, PW model lying on a bed of empty cartridge boxes, lets say eley game VIP with her private bits hidden by handfuls of colorful cock pheasant feathers?

we don't need to know all the ideas but you get the picture (excuse the pun)

I think there needs to be an actual photoshoot.

Are you going to have ladies on one side and gents on the other?

I do know a couple of photographers who have experience of this sort of thing but both have been working on a very similar project recently so not sure if it'd be a conflict of interests but could ask them?

And how are we going to find willing models lol

I was thinking more along the lines of keeping it at a good quality level of amateur photography, with the settings local to the people involved in the pic, preferably in a shooting location rather than mocked up in a studio, that way it’s open to all to take part without the added cost of professional photographer and without the travel to one site / studio and has the added bonus of being UK wide, may be even a little description of where / what / which shoot / clay shoot type thing on the go?

Bigbird, which month are you going put yourself down for, and how handy is Steve with the box brownie?

This will be a very interesting topic to follow :good:

The thing that may hold this back a little is how are we going to get the ladies/gents pictures in one go , would there be a one off photo shoot somewhere or do the individuals forward their pictures ???

we don't need them in one go, submitted via email should be fine
