suggs
just wondered if anyone has an older sbs gun, especialy a hammer version would be interested in any pictures and views on using and looking after such weapons. i really fancy one now as i love old things with a history, and have seen a 50+yrs Dutch hammer gun that felt cozy when brought to the shoulder. Hodmedod.one
just wondered if anyone has an older sbs gun, especialy a hammer version would be interested in any pictures and views on using and looking after such weapons. i really fancy one now as i love old things with a history, and have seen a 50+yrs Dutch hammer gun that felt cozy when brought to the shoulder. H I have a Williams & Powell (Liverpool)side by side damascus barelled 12g hammergun. It dates from around 1880. The barrels (2.5 inch chambers) are nitro proofed and the gun is in perfect condition. I bought it at auction. It was being sold on behalf of the late owners widow. I don't think it ever got much use. I had a VERY good look at it before purchase and then took it to my Gunsmith for a check over. He checked the barrels and said it will probably outlive my son, let alone me I only use light loads and fibre wads. It fits me perfectly and is great for taking out on Cock Days when the size of the bag is unimportant :( I wouldn't part with it.

caplock
Browning GTS, nice looking piece. Seems to be of quite recent manufacture judging by the etched engraving style. Is this the manufacturer? http://www.siacearmi.com/index_uk.htm Did you get it locally in Bucks or have to travel far? Cheers John.

Maldwyn
Hod, that's a beauty. I bought an old Charles Boswell at auction about ten years ago and then very foolishly sold it a couple of years ago as I didn't use it that much. Something which I now greatly regret. You cannot beat the beauty and character of an old English gun. It's always worth looking 'round the auctions for a gun like that.

I don`t know it has Giuseppe Tonolini-Armi Brescia Italy stamped on it so it may be a branch of the same company, I can not find any date on it but as i said it is well used so may look older than it is. It has 70 mm chambers and nitro proof, but i do not know if it is ok for steel shot so i am not going to chance it. I got it from Avalon Guns.
