Best 18650 (Rechargable) batteries?

I've just bought an Ultrafire 1800Lm T6 (Zoomable) Torch, pressure switch and scope mount to use for lamping (Mainly rabbits with my .22LR and maybe fox with the .222 if the beam has enough range for positive ID)

The torch is coming with a pair of Ultrafire (Blue) 18650 3000mAh rechargable batteries and a mains charger. I'm not sure of how good a quality the Ultrafire Batteries are going to be, maybe someone who uses or has used them could advise me.

If they are not going to be "reasonable" quality could anyone suggest a better make or mAh rated batteries that I could buy and use that aren't too likely to let me down when I am out lamping in the middle of nowhere please?

Thanks in advance guys! :good:

donty beleive all wahts written on the batteries, check this link out, my father in law has personally tried these test with nearly exact results, ive got 6 blue batterries myself, and all have tested different amps and last different times in same headlight. apparently they cannot physically make a battery with the ampage stated for that size of battery,so they are just blatantly lieing .

Even worse, you find a good brand and model of cell, then suddenly the quality goes AWOL. You buy more and they do not behave in te same way. China manufacturers are highly unreliable.

Best bet, just buy loads of protected cells, and swap out when necessary.

I use nitecore 18650's, yes they're pretty expensive but you only have to buy them once and you know they're protected, from a decent manufacturer and have a good mah rating. I feel pretty confident that they won't knacker my torches, unlike if I got really cheap ones of eBay...

Of course you can!

I have two, one rated at 2600mah, and one which was a bit harder to get hold of, a 3100mah. Although I'm not sure how much extra run time I actually get out of the 3100mah battery!

The former was purchased at that wonderful place called Heinnie Haynes, and the other from that magical place called eBay!!

as malkiserow says. Panasonic all the way the high the mAh the better, i like to use 4000+ but it must be protected else you'll get carried away lamping and not notice you have over discharged your battery, then no matter what you do you will not be able to charge it.

ultrafire 4000mah i have used are ok and good enough, i use them as well.

the blue ones, forget it, a 3000mah batty will not last any time in one of the high draw torches that are about.
