Essex Keeper
Looks good but it's hard to say until its mounted on my rifle When comes to scopes I don't have a clue
steve_b_wales
I use my Genesis on my .17HMR. But I agree with you, that you have to 'see for yourself' before buying. Another good scope for the money is the Hawke Endurance 30 (3-12 x 50) It comes with a 10 year warranty.
bicykillgaz
Meopta, Nikon monarch or similar
bullet boy
I would always recommend a Simmons WTC 3.5-10x50 scope simply because they are superb value for money!! I also agree with Gaz above-Meopta and Nikon do a superb range plus the Leupold range too!
Essex Keeper
Just to add I all so use it long range rabbit and crow
njc110381
I've got some Vortex bino's and for the money they take some beating. Very good in low light and very clear. If their scopes are anything like the same quality they're a good deal. I've never tried one to comment first hand though. I get on well with my MTC scope but I have talked to a few people who struggle with them. Would you get a second hand Schmidt for that sort of money? If so that's what I'd buy over a new mid range optic.

You get a much better bit of glass for the pound and unless the quality is very good you can get all sorts of focus / point of impact problems.with variables 6x42 or 8x42
Dougy
Why not fixed focus? You get a much better bit of glass for the pound and unless the quality is very good you can get all sorts of focus / point of impact problems.with variables 6x42 or 8x42 But allot less problems with the higher end priced variables, the chap does not want a fixed, i understand why, none of mine are fixed, its personal choice. there was a second hand Leupold for 450 that may suffice, but there again some folk slate them off.
